SEASTAR, Mustique – a luxury 4/5-bedroom villa with a charming colonial character.
As you arrive through the formal courtyard garden, to the main, pillared entrance of this enchanting Mustique house, you will literally feel transported into another world. Originally designed by Oliver Messel and built in 1970, it has, over the years, been lovingly restored and protected by the current owner who has successfully managed to bring to life the essence of colonial Caribbean and quintessentially Mustique Island living.
A house with elegance, style and grace, with homely touches and a wonderful, seafront location surrounded by stunning gardens, that is simply perfect for families and friends to enjoy a true “Mustique home”. The main pavilion features the formal living room, kitchen and the jewel of Seastar – a captivating, semi-circular dining room with doors opening out to the sea views and with a ceiling adorned with trompe l’oeil, painted by French artist Jean-Claude Adenin – your evenings will be truly magical.
The five bedrooms are thoughtfully located in three separate pavilions – spacious, luxurious comfort and prettily furnished throughout, including pieces made by local craftsmen to Oliver Messel’s original specifications.
The stunning pool pavilion, added in 1997, was built according to the original designs. Trompe l’oeil murals of palms and vines help to infuse the outdoors within and you can easily forget about time as you sink into the soft furnishings, take lunch gazing out to sea or relax by the swimming pool as you read your favourite book.
A dedicated team of five staff will take care of all your needs including the wonderful chef, Kemuel, who trained with the French Culinary Institute, specialising in organic dishes made with ingredients grown in Seastar’s own gardens.
The rental of Seastar, Mustique includes the use of two vehicles - electric GEM cars that are perfect for exploring this beautiful Caribbean island.
