As you are aware Hurricane Irma has devastated large parts of the Caribbean. Antigua have been lucky enough to have largely avoided any real damage. However, the sister island of Barbuda has been hit very hard with almost all of the island's building and infrastructure wiped out.

Antigua is the largest of the English-speaking Leeward Islands of the Caribbean and lies just north of the islands of St. Martin, St. Barths, St. Kitts and Nevis. Antigua enjoys a fabulous climate with year round sunshine, averaging 26-30 degrees C, low rainfall and low humidity making it one of the sunniest Caribbean islands.

The beaches of Antigua are stunning, largely undeveloped with long stretches of powdery sand, small secluded coves and fringed with a magnificent, protective coral reef. The waters are crystal clear and a distinctly mesmerising Caribbean blue.

With its long British maritime history, Antigua was once considered to be the most important trading port in the Caribbean. Interesting monuments to this history are dotted throughout the island.
